Benson Justice of the Peace Joe Knoblock set bond at $250,000 for Alvarado Diego Beltsario after he was arrested in Benson Thursday on several drug counts.

Beltsario, 27, of Pirtleville, was stopped by the Benson Police Department for a white light showing in the rear of the vehicle.

When the officer asked Beltsario if he had any weapons his response was, "I have stuff strapped to me."

When asked what was strapped to him, Beltsario said, "weed."

After a search, police said they found two one-pound packages of marijuana strapped to his legs and he had three, one-pound packages in the rear seat of the vehicle.

Beltsario allegedly told the arresting officer that he had purchased the drugs in Douglas, and was taking them to Tucson to sell.

Beltsario was charged with seven felony counts, including possession of marijuana, possession of marijuana for sale and possession of drug paraphernalia.

A March 8 preliminary hearing date has been set.
