Perez Student of Month

Glen Perez

Published: Tuesday, March 9, 2010 6:31 PM CST
Junior Glen Perez is San Pedro Valley High School's February Student of the Month.

"Besides having excellent attendance and no disciplinary issues, [Perez] deserves this recognition for his steady and impressive improvement from last semester, and over the school year," said Angela Grizzle, the school's principal. "Each month it seems Glen becomes more focused and more on track toward graduation," she said.

"Glen appears to be intrinsically motivated and making these positive changes for himself. This is something the staff likes to see because self-discipline and self-motivation for internal rewards is a sign of maturity, good character, and future success.

"Additionally, Glen is cooperative, punctual, and has a positive attitude," acknowledged Grizzle. "He volunteers to help out around the school and is pleasant when asked to do anything. Glen is ahead in his coursework, and on track to graduate a semester early. He will receive his diploma in December - halfway through his senior year."

As Student of the Month, Perez will be recognized at graduation in May with a plaque. His name will remain on the 2009-2010 SY Student of the Month perpetual plaque that hangs in the school's front office.
